Rev vs UserTesting: Honest Comparison
Two options, side by side, with the real costs and the honest downsides. No hype, just what I'd want my own family to know before they choose.

| Overall rating | 3 | 3 |
| Monthly cost | $0 | $0 |
| Category | Freelance marketplace | Freelance marketplace |
| Pros | Free to apply; Paid weekly; Work from home on your own schedule; Several roles: transcription, captions, subtitles and legal work | Free to join; No special skills needed, just honest feedback; A standard 15 to 20 minute test pays $10; Work from home on your own schedule |
| Cons | Pay is per audio minute, so hourly earnings can be low while you build speed; Transcription pays $0.40 to $1.10 per audio minute; You have to pass a skills test; Work volume can go up and down | Tests come in unevenly, so income isn't steady; Many tests are claimed fast; You have to pass screener questions for each test; Small side income, not a full business |
| Verdict | Rev is a real, simple way to earn from home if you type fast and listen carefully. It's better as a side income than a full-time living, especially at the start. | UserTesting is an easy way to earn a little extra money from home with no experience. Treat it as pocket money, not a business you can build on. |
