PeoplePerHour vs UserTesting: Honest Comparison
Two options, side by side, with the real costs and the honest downsides. No hype, just what I'd want my own family to know before they choose.
| PeoplePerHour | UserTesting | |
|---|---|---|
| Overall rating | 3 | 3 |
| Monthly cost | $0 | $0 |
| Category | Freelance marketplace | Freelance marketplace |
| Pros | Free to join; Service fee drops as you earn more from the same client; Sell fixed-price offers or bid on projects; Strong with UK and European clients | Free to join; No special skills needed, just honest feedback; A standard 15 to 20 minute test pays $10; Work from home on your own schedule |
| Cons | Service fees start high on smaller client totals; Fees are set in British pounds; Limited free proposals each month; Smaller than Upwork or Fiverr | Tests come in unevenly, so income isn't steady; Many tests are claimed fast; You have to pass screener questions for each test; Small side income, not a full business |
| Verdict | PeoplePerHour is worth a look if you want clients in the UK and Europe. Fees get lower the more you work with each client, which rewards repeat business. | UserTesting is an easy way to earn a little extra money from home with no experience. Treat it as pocket money, not a business you can build on. |
Choose PeoplePerHour if you want UK and European clients and lower fees as you keep working with the same client. Choose UserTesting if you want simple pocket money for honest feedback, with no special skills needed.
